The residence of Shashank Kakani required a refined and intuitive home automation ecosystem integrating lighting control, curtain automation, and audio-visual systems across key living areas. The objective was to create a modern residential environment where ambience, privacy, and entertainment could be managed through centralized, scene-based controls.
The requirement focused on delivering layered lighting design, discreet infrastructure integration, and simplified operation while maintaining alignment with the apartment’s premium interior aesthetics.
Design Intent
The goal was to implement a centralized lighting and automation framework that enhances comfort, enables daylight control, and simplifies daily interaction through scene-based presets while minimizing visible hardware.
Solution Approach
Play approached the residence automation with a strong focus on comfort, intuitive usability, and aesthetic discipline. The solution was designed to keep technology discreetly embedded within the interiors while enabling effortless control of lighting, curtains, and AV systems across all key living spaces.
Key elements of the solution included:
- A centralized lighting automation backbone managing multiple lighting circuits across living, dining, bedroom, and transitional areas through structured dimmer and relay modules
- Scene-based lighting presets allowing residents to switch between ambience modes such as entertainment, relaxation, dining, and night settings with a single command
- Automated dual-track curtain systems enabling seamless daylight and privacy control in primary living and bedroom spaces
- Layered lighting architecture incorporating cove lights, spotlights, chandelier circuits, mirror LEDs, and floor lighting to enhance spatial depth and visual comfort
- Integrated television and audio systems within the living room, ensuring centralized entertainment without visible wiring clutter
- Wall-mounted keypads providing simplified, room-level control while reducing dependency on multiple traditional switches
- Consolidated backend infrastructure ensuring organized load management, reduced wall clutter, and readiness for future scalability
