Project Overview

The Ewan Video Rack was designed as the central broadcast and signal distribution backbone for the facility, supporting live production, recording, streaming, and multi-endpoint video transmission. With multiple permanent camera points, projection systems, and networked AV devices operating across floors, the infrastructure required a robust and professionally engineered control hub.

The objective was to implement a structured, scalable, and network-driven video ecosystem capable of managing high-resolution workflows with reliability, organized signal routing, and long-term serviceability.

Design Intent

The goal was to establish a centralized broadcast-grade control architecture that enables seamless routing, recording, monitoring, and distribution of video signals while ensuring disciplined network management and operational continuity.

Solution Approach

Play executed a structured AV-over-IP broadcast integration built around centralized rack architecture:

  • Deployment of video encoders and decoders enabling IP-based signal transport across camera points, projectors, and display endpoints
  • Integration of professional video switching and routing systems to manage live feeds and program outputs
  • Multi-format signal conversion supporting interoperability between HDMI, SDI, fiber, and network video workflows
  • Multi-channel recording systems supporting archival and live program capture
  • Centralized PTZ camera control units for coordinated camera management
  • High-capacity managed network switches supporting structured AV-over-IP distribution
  • Integrated monitoring displays and reference audio within the rack for operational feedback
  • Structured IP addressing, port mapping, and organized patch panel configuration for simplified troubleshooting and scalability

The rack was engineered with disciplined cable management, airflow planning, labeling, and logical signal flow to ensure performance reliability and service accessibility.

Outcome

The Ewan Video Rack now operates as a centralized broadcast and distribution backbone for the facility. Multiple camera feeds and projection endpoints are managed through stable AV-over-IP architecture, supporting high-resolution recording and live program workflows.

Documented IP mapping and structured rack organization simplify maintenance and troubleshooting, while formal training and handover ensure operational confidence. The result is a scalable, future-ready broadcast infrastructure capable of supporting professional live production and long-term expansion.
